January is National Human Trafficking Prevention month. We’re excited to announce our next #boldspotlight episode 8 featuring Dr. Christina Vela, CEO of @stjudesranchforchildren LIVE on January 28th at 12pm pst.
Dr. Christina Vela, has more than two decades of professional and progressive human and social service experience that includes developing and administering foster care, homeless and supportive services to children, youth, transition age-youth and their families.
She has worked at the non-profit level as the Executive Director and the Chief Program Officer for St. Jude’s Ranch for Children, a Manager for the Clark County Department of Family Services, Social Services Program Specialist for the State of Nevada and a Program Specialist for the Federal Administration for Children and Families-Children’s Bureau in Washington DC. More recently, Christina has been the Coordinator for the State of Nevada Coalition to Prevent the Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children.
Ashley and Christina will talk about human trafficking, who it affects, how we can keep one another safe and the Healing Center. The Healing Center, one of its kind will offer trauma specific treatment to victims with a goal to have them move along the continuum of healing, from victims to survivors, and then thriving in our community. Coach Ayana O is a highly transformative Business and Mindfulness Consultant, Yoga Teacher and Speaker, combining traditional results-proven methods and mindfulness techniques to help individuals maximize their time and talent transition from BOP (burnt out, overwhelmed, procrastinating) to TOP (triumphant, organized, productivity), take decisive action to enjoy more happiness, peace, satisfaction and success in life.
Her passion and focus for helping people transition from employee to entrepreneurship and or from their current state to their desired self comes from her own transitions in life from BOP to TOP using the techniques and methods herself. Knowing firsthand that when an entrepreneurial spirit stifles his or her ideas and passion projects, it leads to discord in all aspects of life, she is committed to helping individuals and corporations transition mindfully to where they need to be.
Ayana’s work as a coach, consultant, teacher and speaker is where she has found her passion and purpose collide. By allowing others to see the possibilities before them, it brings harmony into their lives through creation of new and more productive habits, accountability, and taking action, turning goals and ideas into real results in their business and personal lives.
Ayana has a B.S. in Psychology from The Open University, an M.B.A. in Business Administration (with honors) from the University of Liverpool and a certified Yoga and Pilates Teacher (RYT-200).
Erika Nicole Howard
Licensed Funeral Professional
Erika is a native of Dallas, Texas, was born into a family of strong driven women. Growing up she watched both her mother Sherry Howard and grandmother Effie serve their communities and local churches faithfully while balancing careers. From an early age Erika found a love for God, church, people, music and debate. In 2003 she graduated from Pepperdine University, where she earned her Bachelors of Science in Business Administration. Later that year Erika began her career with Enterprise Holdings Inc. She sat on a Diversity Leadership committee, not seeing any Black females in management positions she was determined to become the example for others.
Erika relocated to Las Vegas in 2007 to assist a friend in ministry. Shortly after her arrival she began helping in the community, planning events and feeding the homeless. She started assisting battered women with makeovers for job interviews. Her professional career in the industry began as a production assistant for BET. In 2012 she launched Ambiance lounge which has now evolved into the Ambiance Group, a management and production firm.
Erika successfully manages recording artist, small business owners and motivational speakers. In 2020, in the wake of the pandemic Erika became a licensed Funeral Professional and currently runs Operations at a Funeral establishment, in Las Vegas, NV. Erika manages to balance artist management, event production, and a demanding family as a motivational speaker, philanthropist and visionary.
Sean Burney
Marketing Executive, Entrepreneur, Investor and Principle SB|MKTG
Having launched the first iteration of his boutique marketing consulting agency back in 2010/2011, which he used as an outlet to blog and consult on creative marketing strategy, Sean soon immersed himself deep into the corporate world. He now proudly holds a long career of experience as a marketing executive in the casino entertainment and hospitality industry, working in the unique and diverse verticals of CRM innovation, casino marketing strategy, sales acceleration, database and direct marketing, and digital marketing product strategy. Most prominently working as a Director in the VIP Marketing Innovation space for Caesars Entertainment.
A graduate of the UNLV Lee Business school with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and minor studies in Advertising, Sean has been afforded the opportunity to be at the forefront of enterprise digital transformation throughout his career and has gained a wide breadth of knowledge and experience as an internal consultant working with key business stakeholders and technical teams building innovative marketing capabilities and business process solutions. As a trained and certified Agilest, Sean also believes in never letting perfection get in the way of progress, continuous improvement and delivering “speed to market” for clients and customers. Additionally, as a self-confessed creative, Sean uses his studies in Advertising to consult on brand development and branding strategy.
A devoted father and loving husband. Sean also nerds out to Marketing Technology, Sports and confesses to be an “OG” all things vintage sneaker and basketball culture, “Golden Era” hip-hop and enjoys traveling with his family. Sean proudly serves as Managing Partner over Business Development and Marketing Strategy for Heart To Heart LLC, a women’s empowerment platform owned and operated by his wife Ashley!

We had over 40 volunteers who brightened the holiday season for 695 students in need. Without our amazing community supporters, this event wouldn’t have been possible.

We’re days away from the 1st Annual Heart To Heart Youth Empowerment Program Holiday Giveback Event benefiting Rundle Elementary School! We have over 35 volunteers signed up to assist in this amazing event. Huge thanks to all who’ve donated and/or sponsored. Rundle Elementary School serves 695 students in grades preschool through 5th grade. Students who attend Rundle Elementary School qualify for 100% free lunch. All students are below poverty and yet continue to grow academically. The school population is 74% Hispanic, 12% African American and 2 % White/Pacific Islander. Rundle has an amazing team of educators who make school fun!
Rundle is a partner school having participated in the Heart To Heart Youth Empowerment program for the past 2 years. Ashley Burney, Founder and President of Heart To Heart, has mentored the students at all grade levels, providing resources, increasing their knowledge, self-esteem, confidence and overall well-being.
“This event provides our students at Rundle with a Christmas gift. A lot of our students would not receive a Christmas gift during this time of the year without this event and the support of Heart To Heart LLC. The joy that this event will bring is indescribable. I will eternally grateful for Ashley and every individual that has made this event possible,” says Principal, Dr. Lenette Reece.
Volunteers will have the opportunity to distribute toys, holiday treats and read to students. Students will also receive a special visit from Santa Joe! Stay tuned for event updates.

Rundle Elementary, has been selected as the recipient to receive a warm meal, toys and a special visit from Santa Claus! With the community’s help over 695 students in Pre-K - 5th grade will have a brighter holiday season.
We need your help! We’re looking for volunteers, sponsors and local businesses who’d like to host a toy drive November 14th-December 12th. The time has come and we’re excited to announce the 3rd Annual Your Bold Is Beautiful (YBIB) Women’s Empowerment Summit is set to take place October 15-16, 2022 in Las Vegas, Nevada! This annual event brings together women from across the United States to experience the unforgettable!
Last year, the 2nd Annual YBIB Summit brought together over 150 women, hearing from 17 speakers, participating in engaging workshops, vendor marketplace showcasing women-owned businesses and a fashion show featuring the Anne Fontaine and Del’ La Couture collections. The energy was phenomenal and we want to provide this year’s attendees with even more to include a VIP experience, additional vending opportunities, increased sponsor benefits, community awards honoring those who are making a difference, additional workshops and so much more.

Come and support the Heart To Heart Youth Empowerment program and the Grand Opening of CME Event Studios!
Exciting news!! We’re partnering with Create ME Events! The Heart To Heart Youth Empowerment program has been selected as the beneficiary of the Back To School drive, taking place at the upcoming grand opening of Vegas’s NEW upscale event studio!
Join us Wednesday, August 3, 2022 from 4pm-6pm, with ribbon cutting at 4:30pm. The grand opening will provide a walk through tour of the event space with live entertainment, hors d'oeuvres, cocktails and gift bags for the first 50 attendees and more! Attendees will have the opportunity to meet the Create ME Events team, learn about decor & corporate packages and network with other professionals while giving back to the community. Event planners, industry professionals, business owners and community supporters are encouraged to attend.
Anyone who donates school supplies and/or hygiene items will be entered to win raffles!
The Heart To Heart Youth Empowerment program has served the community's most at-risk students for 13 years. Focusing on students social, emotional and educational needs, the program provides students with resources increasing their knowledge, self-esteem, confidence and overall well-being. Your donations will impact the lives of many deserving kids.
